God’s Man – Listen
Calling That Qualifies Jesus is God's Man Resurrection Stamp of Approval Conclusion
Intro:
There
are times when God speaks so loudly; you would have to be deaf not to
hear. There are times when God
demonstrates so conclusively, you would have to be blind not to see. God has never spoken more loudly or
demonstrated more conclusively than Jesus.
Jesus is the “Word of God”.
Jesus is the “Light of the World”.
Jesus is God’s “show off” (apodeiknumito-
show off, i.e. exhibit. Strongs)

A. Calling on Jesus is to Call on God 1. Because Jesus is God’s Man 2. Who did the great miracles? v.2:22? 3. John 4:34 B. More than “Lord, Lord” 1. “Listen to this …” “BELIEVE” 2. 70 AD Israel called on God 3. God’s Chosen??? 4. “Listen” 5. History provides sobering lessons 6. Many now listened to Peter 7. Still, too late for the nation 8. Same for this world. Call is to “come out” |

III. Resurrection- Stamp of Approval A. Without it Jesus – “abandoned” v.27 1. Declared to be the “son of God” 2. Proof of God’s appointment Acts
17:31 ... appointed. ... proof ... raising him from the dead." B. W/O Resurrection, Jesus Dead 1. “was dead” Rev. 1:18 ... Living One; I was dead, 2. “dead and buried” v.29 Acts 2:29 ... David died and was buried, and his tomb is here ... 3. That means DEAD. 4. Jesus was “dead and buried” 1Cor. 15:3-4 ... Christ died ... he was buried,... 5. “message of the cross” 1Cor.1:18, R.6:23 But not according to the pagans 6. Jesus “not really dead” than you are “not really saved” |
Conclusion: Salvation is BIG. It cannot be considered lightly. “No, I beat my body and make it my slave so that after I have preached to others, I myself will not be disqualified for the prize.” 1 Cor. 9:27
